BRITAIN SEEKING MORE EIRE FOOD

LONDON, June 20. A last-minute hitch occurred in the Anglo-Eire trade talks yesterday and they were adjourned until today. It is understood that the question of the price Britain should pay for Irish fat cattle was agreed upon. Reuter says the agreement provided that Britain should pay 5/- (sterling) more per hundredweight live weight. It is understood that Eire’s drawings on the dollar pool in London will be restricted and possibly abolished after June 30. Britain will get larger supplies of food from Eire if an agreement is negotiated. The Eire Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Dillon, said: “It is up to us to give Britain all the food we can.”
