HOLLYWOOD MEN HAD A MUDPACK
NEW YORK, May 23,
Hollywood now has a beauty parlour for men run by red-haired beauty Nadine Henry. A couple of other beauty shops have always allowed actors to sneak in the back door to get their hair dyed for the movies, but Miss Henry's place is crowded day and night with tired males. An advertisement in a movie trade paper broke the news to “men who want to look as well as their wives, sweethearts, or mothers-in-law” and it offered “permanent waves, hair shaping, manicures, facials.” The average customer, who says he is going in only for a haircut, is whisked from a men's waiting-room to a pretty pink booth, guarded from peekers by green curtains. Two hours later he slips out with his haircut—-and generally a permanent, a mudDack. manicure, and plucked eyebrows.
Latest addition is make-up for men. A preparation when spread on masculine chins hides five o’clock shadow. Another cream takes care of wrinkles and adds a suntan.
