NO RELIGIOUS BIAS IN CHOICE OF MIGRANTS

Hayes, who describes as ‘fantastic and utterly without foundation" the allegations made in London that preference is given to Roman Catholics.
Mr. Hayes quoted figures typical of any ship since the free and assisted passages schemes began, which showed that the percentage of Roman Catholics brought to Australia as assisted migrants is much lower than the percentage of Roman Catholics in the Australian community.
