Berths To N.Z. Scarce

The difficulty of obtaining berths from Britain to New Zealand was outlined by Mr. Hugh Macloskey on his arrival at Wellington by the Shaw. Savill and Albion Company’s Mataroa. It was just three years to the day since he had applied for a passage on a New Zealand-bound ship, he said. Actually he had arranged to come to New Zealand in September. 1939, but the war had intervened and forced him to postpone his plans. Mr. Macloskey intends to join an uncle who has a farm at Whansarei. _
