Mobile Cinema at Show
News that the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Council's mobile cinema unit would be available for the Gisborne Show was received at today s meeting of the P.B. Catchment Board. Australian Hockey Visit The Gisborne Borough Council last night approved an application from the P.B. Hockey Association for the sole use of the Childers Road Reserve for July 28, the date fixed for the visit of the Australian touring hockey team. Crawford Road Complaint A complaint of “deplorable conditions” in the upper end of Crawford road as a result of stock traffic, was received by the Gisborne Borough Council at last night's meeting from a woman resident of the neighbourhood. The letter detailed some of the conditions, and suggested that an alternative route be provided for stock travelling to the Haiti freezing works. On the motion of the Mayor, Mr. N. H. Bull, the complaint was referred to the council's works committee,
