S. AFRICA WILL NOT AID BRITISH MIGRANTS

01.30 a.m.) CAPE TOWN, June 14. The new South African Government would give no aid to British immigrants generally in the future, said the Minister of the Interior, Dr. Donges. The Government would assist and encourage only intending settlers of exceptional ability, irrespective of nationality, who were vital to the development of South Africa. Generally, the Government would not use its resources to entice settlers. He added that the amount of immigration would be a strict ration of requirements which could not be met by South Africans and having regard to persons most likely to fit into the pattern of the Union.
