INDIA BLOCKADES HYDERABAD TO FORCE LINK-UP

(N.Z.P.A.—Reuter —Copyright.) (10 a.m.) LONDON, June 14. The Dominion of India, through blockade, is exerting intense pressure on Hyderabad to force the State’s unconditional immediate accession, says the Daily Telegraph’s correspondent in New Delhi. All petrol supplies have run out in Hyderabad and even hospital vehicles are immobilised. Through Mr. Nehru’s personal intervention, two train wagons of salt daily have been allowed through to Hyderabad’s 17,000,000 inhabitants. Medicines, machinery and vehicles are still being stopped at the Hyderabad border whether the consignees are Hyderabad or European nationals. Modified proposals by the Nizam of Hyderabad for a pact with India, which have been flown to New Delhi by the Nizam’s constitutional adviser, Sir Walter Monckton, are considered to offer some hope of a way out of the accession crisis.
