KILMANAGH INJURED IN FLOAT MISHAP
MAY NOT RACE AGAIN
( PA.) HASTINGS, June 15. The Hastings-owned and trained iumper Kilmanagh was badly injured about the legs in a float mishap when returning from Awapuni and she may not race again. Some flooring in the float gave way and Kilmanagh's off foreleg went through. In her subsequent struggles she enlarged the hole until all four legs were projecting beneath the float. The driver of the float pulled up immediately Kilmanagh's struggles indicated something was amiss, but considerable time elapsed before the driver’s efforts and those of the trainer of Kilmanagh, C. Fleming, and several bystanders were successful in freeing the mare. In the meantime sue had severely cut herself about the legs, the' gashes around one coronet being particularly severe. ~ The mishap occurred several miles past Dannevirke. The Hastings two-year-old Quait/. was also in the float, but came to no harm. —.
