Regent.—" Over 21,” Columbia Pictures' adaptation of the Broadway stage hit of the same name, starring Irene Dunne, Alexander Knox and Charles Coburn, is now showing at the Regent Theatre. It is a picture to revel In. Never did a woman get into such hilarious mix-ups. Never was there such rare delight for the young in heart. Its 21 times funnier than the original. Irene Dunne has never been more brilliant in her comedy, nor more beautiful in her looks. Charles Coburn, of course, gives one of his magnificent interpretations of a crotchety ancient. But the comedy surprise of the piece is Alexander Kr.ox. .. , , Majestic.—“ The Overlanders” concludes tonight. To-morrow's programme, which screens at 1.45 and 7.30. will be headed by Warner Brothers' delightful comedy. "That Way With Women.” starring'Dave Clark, Martha Vickers and Sydney Greenstreet. The associate feature will be a rollicking comedy mystery, "'the Missing Corpse,” with Frank Jenks, J. Edward Bromberg and Isobel Randolph. lhe first chapter of the new serial, "The Phantom.” will open each session. It stars lorn Tyler, Jeanne Bates and Ace, the wonder dog. King’s.—" The House on 92th Street, starring William Eythc, Lloyd Nolan and Sifxno Hasso, heads the new programme today. Webster Booth and Anne Ziegler.—Prior to their arrival in the Dominion, the British singers, Webster Booth and Anne Zieglei. who will be at the Opera House on June 21, intimated to their New Zealand management, Begg’s Celebrity Artists Company, that they would not sign autographs unless a silver com was given for charity. Wherever they appear throughout England, they are besieged by ardent collectors, whose demands upon them became so time absorbing that it was felt the effort expended in satisfying these lenuests satisfaction of something achieved in a worthy would be less irksome if accompanied by tile cause. The fund collected in New Zealand will he handed lo the Heritage Movement. Opera House.—Maureen Keany’s annual entertainment in aid of the Hine Materoa Children’s Home, "Xmas Frolics Revue. which was postponed from December owing to the infantile paralysis epidemic, will be presented at the Opera House on Thursday, June 24, at S o'clock. Over 100 performers will include guest, artists from Napier in a merry show ol mirth, melody, dancing, specialty turns ami comedy sketches. The box plans are now open at Arthur Toye, Limited, where tickets may be obtained.
