DEFEAT AT SNOOKER

BILLIARDS CHAMPION PLAY IN P.B. SERIES Winner of the PB. open billiards championship of the season, J. Hutchins. Gisborne, met defeat in the semi-finals for the snooker title at the hands oi M. Costello, who held a margin of 20 points at the end of the three frames. In the other semi-final M. Thorstenson finished 26 ahead of T. Tahi. The final of fiv e frames will be played this evening at ‘-he Alhambra saloon, Gisborne. In the final of the billiards championship last week Tennent made an impressive break of 50 to level the scores at 400, but Hutchins then drew away again and finally ran out 05 points ahead with an unfinished break from losing hazards.
