Personnel selected will be given full training in their trade up to a high standard as detailed below. CLERK GENERAL DUTIES: Clerical and secretarial duties. CLERK ACCOUNTING: Pay Ledgers and pay lists; accounting for stores etc. EQUIPMENT ASSISTANT: Receipt, issue, etc., of all equipment. Equivalent to a highly trained civilian storeman. NURSING ORDERLY: Training in first aid, general nursing, etc., and ward management. Advanced courses up to State Registration standard for Male Nurses AIRFIELD SAFETY ASSISTANT: Fire-fighting (duties similar to firemen in civilian life). Traffic control of aircraft at airfields. . . COOK: Duties similar to chef in civilian life. Training given in cooking, practical butchery, and serving of meals. SAFETY EQUIPMENT WORKER: Inspection, servicing, etc. of parachutes, and air-sea rescue apparatus. . t Initial engagements are up to eignt years, with the opportunity of long-term engagement later.
