(P.A.) . . WELLINGTON, June 4.

The distribution among his family by Mr. Edwin Thomas Taylor, late of Wellington, of £9OOO of a £IO,OOO prize, in an overseas lottery constituted gifts, according to a judgment delivered by Mr. Justice Christie on a case which was heard in March, 1947.

Appellants in the case were the administrators of the estate of Mr. Taylor and the respondent was the Commissioner of Stamp Duties.
