GUNPOWDER EXPLODES

FARMER SEVERELY BURNED PA) NAPIER, May 26. Severe burns on the body, arms and face were received by Mr. William James McGrath, farmer. Napier, when a 101 b tin of gunpowder exploded nearby while he was engaged blasting logs on his River’oend road property yesterday afternoon. Mr McGrath, an elderly man, was admitted to the Napier Public Hospital. His condition is believed to be serious. It is not known how the gunpowder ignited.
