75,000 MEN WALK OUT
CHRYSLER MOTOR PLANT WAGE RISE DEMAND (11 a.m.) NEW YORK, May 12. The nation’s first major automobile strike since 1945 began today when 15,000 Chrysler employees at Detroit walked off the job to support their demand for a wage increase of 17 cents hourly. The strike will cost Chrysler 5000 cars and lorries daily.
