WEEK-END SPORTS ON DISTRICT FIELDS

RUGBY_SERIES FIRST ROUND ENDING VISITING SOCCER SIDES Schedules of the various organisations throughout the poverty Bay, East Coast and Wairoa districts provide for the continuation tomorrow of the season's championship competitions in Rugby. Association football, hockey, and basketball. Teams in each of the senior, junior and third divisions of the P.B. Rugby Union are to play the concluding series of the first round Intermediate grade teams meet in the second series of the second round. Fourth and fifth grade fixtures have been deferred owing to the school term holidays. In the senior division Old Boys, who have been beaten only by Celtic, meet Marist, while 11.5.0.8., play Union. Celtic, who have drawn the bye, have a non-competition engagement at \Vhangara with - Paikea of the Tolaga Bay sub-union. Marist and H. 5.0.8., at present holding equal third place on the ladder, are to play .the leading game in the junior grade. The top team. Old Boys, are matched against Union, occupying bottom position. Third-Grade Wins By Default The award by default to Old Boys of the third-grade game, for which High School (11!) were unable to lake the field last week owing to Hie school holidays, leaves three teams, 11.5.0.8.. Celtic and Old Boys, in equal second position, two points below Marist in this division. Again as a result of the absence of players during the holidays . both School teams in the grade have to default tomorrow. As a result Marist and Oiri Boys will each be credited with two points. The completion of the round, therefore, will find Marist leading by two points and Old Boys holding equal second place with the winners of the H. 5.0.8 v. Celtic game if it yields an out-right decision tomorrow, Marist and Old Boys are to play a non-competition fixture. P.B RUGBY FIXTURES I Senior.— At 2.45: Old Boys v.
