WATERFRONT DELAY
“WOULD NOT TOLERATE IT" (P.A.) WELLINGTON, April 30. The present conditions on the waterfront with protracted delays would not be tolerated if the National Party became the Government, said Mr. S. G. Holland in an address at a meeting of the national executive of the National Party today. Mr. Holland touched on matters of topical importance, including Communism and Britain’s difficulties. Mr. Holland will leave for Hastings by car tonight and on Monday will attend annual meetings of party organisations in the Hauraki and Piako electorates. On Wednesday he will address a public meeting in the Auckland Town Hall. Because of the present port congestion at Wellington the Port Quebec, which was to have arrived here tomorrow from Dunedin, has been diverted to Napier. There are IS overseas ships in port today and five are without cargo working berths
