ARABS-JEWS AGREE ON TRUCE FOR WALLED JERUSALEM

(N.Z.P.A.—Reuter—Cot yr'gnt.) NEW YORK, April 28. Jewish and Arab representatives today agreed on a four-point truce plan for the walled section of Jerusalem, which contains most of the Christian, Moslem and Jewish holy places. The agreement, which still lias to he ratified by the leaders in Palestine, states:

1. All military operations in the walled section are to cease immediately. 2. A cease-fire order is to be issued as soon as possible. 3. The truce terms are to be elaborated in consultation with the Jews and Arabs. 4. A committee is to be established to supervise the truce.

Mr. Moshe Shertok, the Jewish Agency representative, and Jamal Husseini, vice-chairman of the Arab Higher Committee, agreed to cable their recommendation for acceptance of the truce to their organisations in Palestine. , The agreement, which was worked out in a closed session of the United Nations Trusteeship Council, marked the first time that the Arabs and Jews have agreed on anything concrete since Britain presented the case to the United Nations.
