CURB ON COMMUNISTS

AMERICAN BILL PENDING LIMIT ON ACTIVITIES (10 a.m.) WASHINGTON, April 29. The House of Representatives committee investigating un-American activities today unanimously decided to submit legislation to Congress to curb the activity of the Communist Party and its “front” organisations. The bill, which will be debated in the Houre of Representatives next week, will define the American Communist Party as a branch of international conspiracy and will subject its present leaders to a fine of 10.000 dollars and a year's gaol for criminal conspiracy. It will require the Communist Party to register annually with the Justice Department and provide the Government with a list of its members. Tiie bill will bar Communist Party members from Government jobs and forbid them to seek Government positions without disclosing that they are Communists.
