LIGHTNING BOLT KILLS TWO FOOTBALLERS

(11 a.m.) LONDON, April 19. Two players have died and sis others and the referee are in hospital as a result of being struck by lightning* during the replay of the Army Football Cup final at Aldershot. An eye-witness said there was a great roll of thunder and a tremendous flash directly over the field. “All the players and the referee fell to the ground,” lie said. “Some began to stagger to their feet after a minute or two, but the others lay prone. Stretcher-bearers rushed on the field.”
