TO BE AMALGAMATED

MARCHING ASSOCIATIONS (P.A.) WANGANUI, April 19. A step towards the amalgamation of the two bodies which at present control girls’ marching in New Zealand, was taken on Saturday when delegates from both bodies—the New Zealand Marching Union and the New Zealand Marching Recreational Association —met and decided to support an amalgamation provided that the word “recreational” is deleted from the title and the constitution is that of the New Zealand Marching and Recreational Association.

An independent chairman, Lieu-tenant-Colonel J. W Barry, who has just retired from the N.Z.S.C. of the New Zealand Military Forces, conducted the meeting.
