Domestic electricity supply is cut between 0.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. on every day of the week, in addition, commercial and industrial supply is cut between 4.30 p.m. and 5.30 p.m on every day of the week except Sunday. Radiators are under a total ban. In the Waitemata district, the consumption of current through waterheater installations is limited to seven units per day, and dairy water-heaters are to be used as sparingly as possible. The general supply is cut throughout the board’s area between 11.30 o'clock and 2.30 o’clock each night, and a further cut between 6.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. daily is under consideration. Radiators and floodlight systems are under a total ban. Both boards have imposed restrictions on shop-lighting. The ban on'radiators includes tubular, panel and sapee-heat-ing appliances.
