April 14 New Zealand’s first Maori woman doctor will take her degree next month She is Mrs. Rina Moore, formerly Miss Ropiha, Waipawa, Central Hawke's Bay who has been stpdying at Otago University for several years. Hhe example was cited by Bishop Bennett as an illustration of the abil ity of members of the Maori race to succeed in any pursuit. Bishop Bennett said Mrs Moore studied hard to within a few days of having a child and went back 1o her studies as soon as possible afterwards, leaving her husband to look after the baby on the Plunket system. Mrs. Moore met her husband when they were both students at the university. Her father is Tipi Ropiha, a prominent officer of the Maori Affairs Department
