SHIRLEY FOX WILL RACE AGAIN AT WHANGAREI MEETING TOMORROW

(Herald Special Service.) r £HrK AYlianjrarei Raping Club will holds its two-dav autumn meeting tomorrow and Saturday and, like the majority of provincial meetings in the Auckland district, the fields are large.

There will be eight races, and, perhaps, 11 with divisions, so that the club will be set a stiff task to keep up to the advertised time of starting. McINNES MEMORIAL The chief event is the £6OO Melnnes Memorial Handicap, in which WHITE BLAZE heads the list with 9.0 and on her present form will bo a favourite. FORTUNE’S SMILE may be in need of a race, but if the going Is soft his chance of success will not be overlooked DOUGAL is reported from the north to be a "ball of muscle," while SHIRLEY FOX is a most interesting competitor and has not raced since he nearly fell in the last A.R.C. Easter. .IEET has a habit of winning on the country circuits up north. Of those weighted lower in the handicap the promoted hack MAID OF SHERWOOD looks to have the best show MAUNGATAPERE HANDICAP The Maungatapere Handican is the only other open race on the programme the first day. MASTER TED wears the No- 1 saddle cloth and, despite his failure tast week, will not be neglected However.
