OPENING OF SESSION

TOWARDS END OF JUNE (S.R.) WELLINGTON. March 17. A proclamation by the GovernorGeneral, Sir Bernard Freyberg, further prorogues the meeting of Parliament to June 3 when, according to this notice, members will be required “to take into consideration the state and welfare of the Dominion and therein to do as may seem necessary.”

This is the usual phrase when there is an intention to make a further extension of the recess as the final proclamation requests members to meet for the transaction of business. It is, therefore, evident that the Government plans to open the session towards the end of June.
