CALLING INVISIBLES
ACTION PLAN No. 27 (Sponsored by Gisborne and East Coast Y.M.C.A for Boys and Girls of Gisborne and District)
The exhibition of work contributed by the Invincibles and the prize-giving will be held at the Y.M.C.A., Gisborne, on Wednesday, March 31. We shall give you details at a later date.
All entries are to be in by the end of this week, with the exception of the Padre’s competitions, which are still running.
This is the last Action Plan (No. 26) to be pasted in your scrapbook. So, paste this in and send your book into the Y.M.C.A. All other work not yet submitted will be accepted for the exhibition, that is, the whittling, etc., of which we reminded you last week.
Of course, you are to understand that this is not the end of the Invincibles’ sessions. Station 2ZJ will carry on ns usual, and the action plans in the Gisborne Herald will continue until further notice.
RADIO SESSIONS
A word about the radio sessions Commencing tonight, Wednesday, the Music Lady and her session will change from Thursdays to Wednesdays and the Mailman, from Wednesday to Thursday. All other sessions will remain as at present.
You will have noticed that the serial Alice in Wonderland appears in the Story Teller session each Tuesday now. Tiiis will continue Write and tell us how you like it.
POSTERS FOR EXHIBITION
This will not be a competition, but we invite all G.l.’s to draw up a poster suitable for displaying in the town shop windows and suitable places so that people may get to know about the exhibition. Anyone wanting further information about the details for the
poster are invited to call at or telephone the Y.M.C.A Now that the restrictions have been lifted Invincibles, boys and girls will be able to ■ take part in the groups that have started at the Y.M.C.A. for the 1948 season. Those who have not been before will be able to call in with their parents to get particulars about joining the groups. Also, we shall announce soon our plans for the Invincible groups in *he suburbs of Gisborne.
CALLING ALL CYCLISTS
The Y.M.C.A is starting a Cycle Club, which will meet for runs on Saturdays. In addition. I have been asked to give some advice on the care and adjustments of your bicycle in this column. I am prepared to answer questions by mail. If you join the club or come to the Saturday meeting you will be able to
get all the help and advice you re quire.
Owing to further restrictions on imports, bicycles will remain dear and will get scarcer. It win pay you to
learn how to care for your machine to got long life and easier running. Watch out for the hints each week.
