Chrysanthemum Display

Many Gisborne gardeners were growing chrysanthemums this year and the society should do all it could to encourage these growers and others, it was stated at last night’s committee meeting of tne P.B. Hortcultural Society. It was decided, therefore, that a chrysanthemum display on a noncompetitive basis should be held in the Bon Accord lounge in mid-April and that all growers would be asked to stage as many blooms as possible. The display is to be open during an afternoon and evening to the general public. This will be the first time for some years that the society has staged chrysanthemums. The hope was expressed that next year a proper chrysanthemum show would be held.
