MILITARY AID NEEDED
CHINESE GOVERNMENT U.N.R.R.A. CHIEF’S ADVICE WASHINGTON, March 8. Mr. Lowell Rooks, Director-General of UNRRA, told the House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee today that economic aid to China would be useless without military assistance for the Nationalist Government. The committee is considering a 670,000,000 dollar recovery programme for China. The .State Department today informed the committee that it will ask Congress soon to let the Export and Import Bank lend the Latin American countries 500,000,000 dollars,
