FIELDS FOR SATURDAY IP.A.) NEW PLYMOUTH. March 10. Tlio acceptances for the annual meeting o the Opunnke ltacinu Club lo be held in liawera on Saturday are:

Waip uk u rau -o w ned -and-Ira ine d, on o w Saint, did the best of the others whic.i were on the whole up to the stancUud of the average maiden field.

Lord Azure's Win The success of the Wairarapa owned-and-trained Lord Azure, in the Waipoua juvenile Handicap opened his winning account. This was the fourth Mait by this chestnut gelding belonging to Mi. T A Bett In his previous eilort he ran second to Vaduz at the Pahiatua meeting in mid January. At Otaki he won comfortably by the best part o three lengths after being in the call from the word go. He was got by the New Zealand-bred, Kilbroney horse. Cambria Park, trom Bright Sky, by the imported Sky Blue. Air Belle ran a fair second and -vas in need of the race, so will have to be taken into consideration when summing up the two-year-old handicap event this week-end at Wellington. Levina just cut out Golden Arrow on the post for third money, but there was a gap of about a dozen lengths pack to the fifth horse Livre d’Or and outside the first four place getters this field was not up to standard. Went Down Fighting

The Hastings gelding, Haere Iluku, winner at Gisborne last month, gave a resolute display in the Champion HacK and went down fighting. lie was one of the leading division throughout and half-way down the straight headed tac pacemaker who, however, under a very hard ride came again with a game effort to win by a good half length. Super Lake scored a very creditable triumph as she led practically all the way She won tiie Maiden at Waira r.apa on New Year's Day, but since then had run three times unplaced. She was got by Night Raid from Great Lake and is a stable companion to Paper Ruffle who won earlier in the day. Did Not Put Foot Wrong-

False Step did not put a loot wrong in the concluding event at Opaki. This was a change trom Woodville when sne got away on the wrong leg, and was left. She has had a good innings since joining up with the Hastings Martindale Lodge team, having won four races besides gelling a third. She was got by Phaleron Bay from Tripping, dam of Poutatau, who was raced successfully by the late Mr. J. M. James after whom was named the chief event at Masterton on Saturday. False Step enjoyed perhaps the easiest win of the day. Although she lias been penalised 51b, bringing her Wellington impost up to 9.2, she should be a prospect this Saturday.
