Other hotels, however, have cancellations with a major proportion from Auckland, Wellington and other North Island centres. The widespread cancellations are not causing the hotel-keepers any embarassment. at least in Gisborne, because as fast as a cancellation comes to hand, it is possible to replace the booking with one of the would-be visitors on the reserve list. Proprietors, at present estimate that there will be little change in their previous estimations of a complete booking-out of all accommodation over the holiday period and in some cases extending well into January.
