RACE MEETING BAN

JOCKEYS UNDER SIXTEEN (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Dec. 16. At the request of the president of the New Zealand Racing Conference, the health authorities have given a ruling on the position of apprentice jockeys and stable employees under the age of 16 years in relation to the restrictions imposed because of the infantile paralysis epidemic. The authorities have ruled that apprentice jockeys, stable employees and horse attendants under the age of 16 are debarred from attending race meetings until further notice. The restrictions do not prevent them attending at the tracks for riding work, or from going about the normal stable duties.
