Ambulance Visits Ruatoria

• A special journey to Ruatoria was made yesterday by the St. John Ambulance to bring a 14-year-old boy, Roha Reedy, to Gisborne for admittance to the Cook Hospital. He had been kicked by a horse and is at present under observation after spending a good night. Another patient admitted to the hospital yesterday was Mrs. Sarah Barber, aged 84, Waerenga-a-hika, who was injured by a fall at her home. She Was reported this morning to be comfortable. Loss To Dominion The severe loss to the Dominion as a result of the death of the engineer to the soil conservation council, Mr A. P. Grant, was mentioned yesterday at the December meeting of the P.B. Catchment Board by the chairman, Mr J. R. Hair, and members stood in silence as a tribute to his memory. The lute Mr Grant was known to many members of the board. Mr Hair said, and his passing would be severely felt by the council, catchment boards, the engineering profession and the Dominion as a whole. Retired Members Thanked

“These men helped to initiate the policy of the board and we appreciated their fellowship and co-operation,” said the chairman, Mr. J. R. Hair, at a meeting of the P.B. Catchment Board yesterday when moving that appreciation of tlie valued services of former members of the board, Messrs. P. W. Barrett, F. H. Forge and' H. C. Hains, be recorded in the minutes. He added that they were foundation members of the board who had given much of their time and assistance.
