GRASSHOPPER INVASION OF ADELAIDE

(11 a.m.) ADELAIDE, Deo. 17. Two great waves of grasshoppers have swarmed over Adelaide suburban gardens and parks. The grasshoppers swept in from the north on a threemile front and immediately settled on gardens and swamp lands.

Many crashed into car windscreens and the faces of pedestrians. The garden damage is reported to be extensive. Garden experts say that nothing can be done except to allow the grasshoppers to settle and then disturb them as much as possible.
