'With water still lying on the wicket, a brief inspection by the captains at-10 a.m. resulted in a decision to inspect again at 2 p.m. At this hour light rain was falling and a decision was left to the umpires, who had no hesitation in abandoning play for the day. Australia, with one down for 28, still needs 161 to head India’s 188.
