NON-VIOLENCE ADVISED

X JEWS IN PALESTINE ZIONIST LEADER’S AIMS (11 a.m.) NEW YORK, Dec. 14. A strict policy of non-violence by Jews was advocated yesterday by Dr. Chaim Weizmann, former president of the World Zionist Organisation, who has been suggested as the first president of the Jewish State in Palestine.

He advised the Jews to defend themselves but not to retaliate. Foremost on the new nation’s programme sho'uld be the re-establishment of good relations between the Jew* and the British who had done a great deal to establish a new Jewish national home. . , Dr. Weizmann also recommended controlled Immigration. He said that 75,000 new settlers would be the extreme limit the State could absorb in the first two or three years.
