Theatrical Tour Abandoned

Increased costs and continually in-, creasing demands made by, the Australian Actors’ Equity are the reasons given by the directors of J. C. Williamson, Limited, for abandoning the New Zealand tour of a musical comedy unit which was to have begun in Auckland about the middle of January. Mr. Arthur Tait, general manager in New Zealand, said that the rapid rise in the cost of theatrical tours in New Zealand in recent vears was perhaps not realised by the public.
