CANADIAN TRADE OWN PRODUCE TOO DEAR (10 a.m.) MONTREAL, Dec. 12 The importation of New Zealand butter or margarine was suggested by the trade in Montreal yesterday as the alternative to Canadian butter which is expected to cost from 75 cents to one dollar a lb. in a few weeks. The high price , was said to be caused by a severe shortage of butter in the eastern provinces. Grade A butter m Montreal yesterday sold for 69 to 73 cents per lb. The importation of New Zealand butter appears to be favoured by the trade here as a result of 10,00U,0001 b. which was imported from New Zealand some time ago.
