EXTRA 50000 TONS AUSTRALIAN SUPPLIES WHEAT FOR INDIA (N.Z.P.A. —Reuter—Copyright.) (11 a.m.) CANBERRA, Dec. 13. The British Government will buy meat worth £18,000,000 from Australia in the year ending next September. Last year the British bought about £13,000,000 worth of Australian meat. The British decision to pay slightly more for some cuts and to buy an extra 55,000 tons in the next year has caused the increase. The Federal Government has agreed to supply Britain with 280,000 tons of meat next year, compared with 225,000 tons last year. The Federal Government has agreed to sell India 25.000,000 bushels "of wheat from this season’s crop. In return, India has promised to increase exports of jute, textiles, castor oil seeds and linseed to Australia this financial year.
