Superannuated Officers Entertained

Fourteen superannuated officers of the Post and Telegraph Department were entertained at a social function this week by members of the present staff of the Gisborne Post Office. The occasion, an annual one, was greatlyenjoyed by the superannuants, some of whom left the post office service a good number of years ago. The guests were met by the chief post-master, Mr. A. O. Martin, and the telegraph engineer, Mr. G. J. W. Tyer. Short addresses were given by the two host officers and later the superannuants mixed with the van* ous branch controlling officers, many reminiscences being exchanged. Afternoon tea was served and later Mr. L, H. Steel, late nrincinal of the radio division, general post office, thanked the officers for making the occasion such a happy one.
