Ruatoria Chamber of Commerce

At a special meeting the Ruatoria Chamber of Commerce decided to become an incorporated body. The chairman, Mr P. H. Paw, was given full authority to finalise the matter with the secretary of Incorporated Societies in Gisborne. The chairman was commended for the great deal of trouble he had taken to carry out tasks delegated to him. It was stated that he had done a great deal of travelling at his own expense to carry out the chamber’s business. It was strongly urged that the chamber should take steps to ensure that individual members did not become out of pocket due to the chamber’s business.
