FIRING UP TO 600YDS. " GISBORNE RIFLE CLUB On Saturday afternoon members of the Gisborne Defence Rifle Club fired from the 500yds and '6ooyds mounds- on the Sponge Bay range. There was a good attendance and scoring was again of a high standard. At the 500yds I. Foss and F. J. Jeune were the top scorers with 47 points each, while at the longer range, T. Lamberton registered a fine 48, closely followed by W. J. Burton, G. Allan, and F. J. Jeune with 47 each. Ih the aggregate for the match G. A. Allan secured his second win for the season with a gross 96. T. Evans, the only other competitior to reach the club standard score of 96, took second prize and Cc. Jeune with 95 gross was third.
