ROYAL FAMILY WEDDING MESSAGES (P.A.) WELLINGTON. Nov. 25. The Governor-General, Sir Bernard Freyberg, has receiyed the following message from the King: “I send you my heartfelt, thanks for the kind message which you sent to me on the occasion of the marriage of my daughter and on behalf of the Government and the peoples of New Zealand, the island territories and Western Samoa.—George R.” The Governor-General has been requested by Princess Elizabeth to issue the following statement: “Princess Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh received a very large number of telegrams and letters from towns’ organisations, public institutions ana private individuals in New Zealand wishing them happiness and good fortune. “Their Royal Highnesses would like the senders to know that these j^ in .d thoughts added a great deal to their happiness at this time. They have been deeply touched by. the number ot people who have written V> them ana by the warmth of the affection which their messages reflect. “Their Royal Highnesses cannot hope to answer all the letters and. telegiams personally, but ask that this general acknowledgment may be accented as expressing the gratitude which they most sincerely feel.”
