BRITISH NAVY CUTS
FULL DATA DEMANDED NAVY LEAGUE’S REQUEST (9 a.m.) LONDON. Nov. 12. Admiral Sir Percy Noble, chairman of the Navy League, stated that the league demanded “full and frank information about the reported serious reductions made or to be made in the navy.”
Information on naval strengths, which must be already available to every waterfront labourer and every gent foreign agent from Hong Kong to Bermuda, must also be made available to the general public.
The Government’s silence about rumours concerning the naval reductions was causing grave anxiety in the British Commonwealth and among friends arid was creating suspicion that there were matters concerning naval defence which the Government dare not disclose.
