The Prime Minister, Mr. P. Fraser, who was to have visited Otaki yesterday, was unable to do so and was represented by Mr. G. P. Shepherd, Under-Secretary of the Native Department. Other officials were also present. Matters of interest to the Maori race were considered and were given a sympathetic hearing.—P.A. '
