FOOD TRAIN STARTS
SEND-OFF BY HOLLYWOOD (11 a.m.) LOS ANGELES. Nov. 9. Ten bands blared, searchlights pierced the sky, over 100,000 persons lined the streets and scores of film stars paraded on floats as the “Friendship Train” began its transcontinental jourtjey to collect food for Europe after a giant Hollywood send-off. Two electric engines pulled eight food-laden carriages eastwards. It is ■ expected that when the train reaches New York on November 18 there will be at least 160 cars packed with food donated from all narts of the United States,
