ENTRIES BARRED
WESTRALIAN TROTTERS CONTESTS IN N.Z. PERTH, Oct. IS. Trotting circles have been shocked by the announcement that the entries of the brilliimt mares, Para Derby am) Winsome Bobbie, have been rejected by the New Zealand haudictippers for inter-Dominion championships. Winsome Bobbie on the 2.7 occupies the State's fastest mark. Para Derby is cn the 2.8 mark and holds the two miles’ record of 2.10. She won the 11 furlongs fiee-for-nll. flying start, after the last inter-Dominion championships hi Perth in which she paced at 2.5 rate, which is considered the fastest mile ever registered in a tnce in Australia. Winsome Bobbie’s owner. Mr. W. Nevard, was keen for the mare to go to New Zealand as he realised the hard mark ehe occupied here limited her opportunities for success.
The rejection of the entries is something of a mystery to local trotting people, even though they have in mind the different basis of handicapping.
