The- Rev. D. Spencer, formerly of Matawhero, who recently returned from service in Japan, sustained a call from Knox Church. Mirimar. at last week's meeting of the presbytery of Hawke's Bay and was warmly' congratulated by the presbytery. The notable contribution made by Mr. H. M. Boddington to the administration of lawn tennis i n Wairarapa and New Zealand was acknowledged in Masterton on Friday night when Mr Boddington was entertained at a dinner as the guest of the Wairarapa Lawn Tennis Association To mark his service for 21 years as secretary Mr. Boddington was given a fireside chair. Many tributes were paid to his lifelong work in promoting the game. Mr. Boddington has been elected to life membership of the Wairarapa Lawn Tennis Association and the New Zealand Lawn Tennis .Association. '■’ ■
