TO WORK WITH DUTCH

WEST JAVANESE LEADERS (11 a.m.) BATAVIA. Oct. 19. A conference at Bandoeng of 50 Indonesian political, religious and commercial representatives in West Java decided yesterday to co-operate forthwith with the Netherlands East Indies Government for the rehabilitation of the country.

The representatives came from districts occupied bv the Dutch forces, mostly since the "police” action was taken where 10.000.000 Indonesians reside.

A resolution passed by the conference said it was essential that the Indonesian leaders should take part in the government of West Java. It said that because of the nolitical situation the time had not arrived for a final, decision on West Java's status, but asked the Government to summon a general conference of representatives of all groups of the population to form an independent preliminary governing bodv for West Java on democratic principles.
