PUBLIC SUPPORT
SUCCESS AT SHOW PRESIDENT’S THANKS ROYAL SHOW IN 1950 The importance to the success of the Show of the public’s support was emphasised bv the president of the P.B. Agricultural and Pastoral Association, Mr A. C. Langford, when he acknowledged on Saturday afternoon the patronage extended to the sixty-seventh annual Show. “It gives me great pleasure to welcome this great crowd to our showgrounds. and to thank you on behalf of mv committee and members for your staunch patronage today,” said Mr Langford. "We are fortunate in the attendance, which I believe will set a record for the association. Your continued support indicates. I think, full approval of the efforts of the association to pro-: vide entertainment for the public and encouragement to the breeders of quality live-stock and producers of agricultural products. the art and craft workers, and the cooks of our district. “We have it on the authority of visitors. who have seen many of the best Shows 'of the Dominion, that our grounds and our exhibits rank with the best. The facilities we have been able to provide, and the attractions which the Show is able now to offer, are the result of the support we have received over the years.
“We hope sincerely that we can deserve your continued support, and that when our opportunity comes to present the Roval Show in 1950 on our Gisborne grounds the association will be eaual to the occasion. If we are not equal to it. I feel sure that it will be through no lack of interest and support on your part.”
