BRITAIN’S THREE VALUES
(10 a.m-) LONDON, Oct. 19. The Prime Minister, Mr C. R. Attlee, in a speech after receiving the freedom of Birmingham, said the three values which Britain was not prepared to sacrifice in her bid to take a short cut to material prosperity were freedom, democracy and the acceptance of the validity of moral values. . “We believe we can achieve orderly planning without sacrificing individual initiative, unity of action and without imposing uniformity,” he said.
