ALL N.Z. CAN SUPPLY
BRITAIN’S FOOD NEEDS (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 28. The Secretary for Commonwealth Relations, Viscount Addison, replying at a press conference to a question said:— "We shall be able to ship all the food you will supply us. We are making special arrangements for this.” Refrigeration, he added, was the limiting factor, but Britain would divert all the necessary shipping to New Zealand. For that reason she wanted to know as far as possible In advance how much New Zealand could send. As, even on the present meagre ration, Britain’s meat consumption was 30,000 tons a week, it was Impossible to get It all from sterling countries, Lord Addison added.
